Terms of Service

These Terms of Service (“Terms”) govern your access to and use of the RingOwl AI answering service (the “Service”), provided by RingOwl, Inc. (“RingOwl,” “we,” or “us”). By signing up or using the Service you (“Customer” or “you”) agree to these Terms.

1. The Service

RingOwl is an AI answering service that answers, routes, books, and summarizes inbound calls on the Customer’s behalf. Specific capabilities, included minutes, and pricing depend on the plan you select on the pricing page.

2. Account & eligibility

  • You must be 18 or older and authorized to bind the business you sign up for.
  • You must provide accurate information and keep it current.
  • You are responsible for keeping your credentials secure.

3. Trial

New accounts may begin on a free 7-day, 30-minute trial. The trial ends when either limit is reached, whichever comes first. Trial minutes are a one-time budget — they do not renew during the trial. Continuing to use the Service after the trial requires a paid subscription.

4. Subscriptions, billing & cancellation

  • Paid plans are billed monthly in advance via Stripe.
  • You authorize us to charge your payment method on each billing cycle.
  • You may cancel from your billing page at any time. Cancellation takes effect at the end of the current billing period — no further charges will be made after cancellation.
  • Refunds are issued at our discretion for material service failures. Contact hello@ringowl.ai.
  • Overages beyond included minutes are billed at the rates listed on the pricing page.
  • We may change pricing on 30 days’ notice. Existing subscribers keep the previous price for the current billing period.

5. Acceptable use

You agree not to:

  • Use the Service to make calls in violation of TCPA, telemarketing rules, or other applicable laws.
  • Use the Service for telemarketing, robocalls, or unsolicited outbound calling without proper consent and opt-outs.
  • Resell or sublicense the Service without our written consent (excluding agency white-label arrangements explicitly authorized by us).
  • Reverse engineer, scrape, or interfere with the Service.
  • Submit unlawful, harassing, or abusive content.

We may suspend or terminate accounts that violate these rules, with or without notice.

6. Call recording & legal compliance

You are responsible for complying with call recording, two-party consent, and other telecommunications laws in your jurisdiction. RingOwl provides a configurable consent announcement; you are responsible for enabling it where required.

7. Customer content

You retain ownership of your account information, business profile, call recordings, transcripts, and lead data (“Customer Content”). You grant RingOwl a worldwide, non-exclusive license to host, process, and use Customer Content solely to provide and improve the Service for you.

8. Intellectual property

The Service, including all software, designs, and trademarks, is owned by RingOwl. We grant you a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable license to use the Service while your subscription is active.

9. Third-party services

The Service integrates with third-party tools (e.g. Google Calendar, Twilio, Stripe, Retell AI). Your use of those services is governed by their own terms. We are not responsible for third-party outages or actions outside our control.

10. Disclaimers

THE SERVICE IS PROVIDED “AS IS” AND “AS AVAILABLE” WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND, EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, INCLUDING BUT NOT LIMITED TO IMPLIED WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, AND NON-INFRINGEMENT. WE DO NOT GUARANTEE THAT THE SERVICE WILL BE UNINTERRUPTED, ERROR-FREE, OR THAT THE AI WILL ALWAYS ANSWER ACCURATELY.

11. Limitation of liability

TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, RINGOWL’S TOTAL LIABILITY ARISING OUT OF OR RELATED TO THESE TERMS OR THE SERVICE WILL NOT EXCEED THE GREATER OF (A) US $100 OR (B) THE AMOUNT YOU PAID US IN THE 12 MONTHS BEFORE THE CLAIM. WE WILL NOT BE LIABLE FOR INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES, OR LOST PROFITS OR REVENUES.

12. Indemnification

You agree to indemnify and hold RingOwl harmless from any claim arising out of (a) your use of the Service, (b) your violation of these Terms, or (c) your violation of any law or third-party right.

13. Term & termination

These Terms remain in effect while you use the Service. Either party may terminate at any time. Upon termination, your right to use the Service ends and any outstanding fees become due. Sections that by their nature should survive termination will survive.

14. Governing law & disputes

These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of Delaware, USA, without regard to its conflict of laws rules. Disputes will be resolved by binding arbitration in San Francisco, CA, under the rules of the American Arbitration Association, except either party may seek injunctive relief in court for IP misuse.

15. Changes to these Terms

We may update these Terms. The current version is always posted on this page. We will notify Customers by email of material changes. Continued use of the Service after a change means you accept the updated Terms.
