Connector FAQ
What is the RingOwl connector?+
It's an MCP (Model Context Protocol) server that lets AI assistants like Claude and ChatGPT read your RingOwl calls and, if you allow it, update what your AI receptionist tells callers. You chat in your AI app; it asks RingOwl for the answer.
Does it cost extra?+
No. The connector is included on every RingOwl plan, including the free trial. Your AI app may need a plan that supports custom connectors.
What's the server URL?+
https://app.ringowl.ai/mcp. You sign in with your normal RingOwl email and password or Google account, so there's nothing else to paste.
Can the AI app change my settings without asking?+
Only if you left “Allow changes” on when you connected, and even then the connector tells the assistant to confirm changes with you first. Most AI apps also ask before running a tool that edits anything. Choose read-only if you'd rather make changes yourself.
Can it place calls or text my customers?+
No. The connector reads your calls and updates your receptionist's hours, FAQs, notes and greeting. It can't place calls, send texts or change billing.
How do I disconnect?+
Go to Integrations in your RingOwl dashboard and click Disconnect, or remove the connector in your AI app. Access stops straight away.
