  • What's RingOwl's stance on HIPAA?+

    RingOwl is HIPAA-aware, not HIPAA-certified. We don't log or expose PHI by default and call data lives in your account only. We don't currently sign BAAs. Review against your own compliance requirements before relying on it.

  • Will it diagnose or give medical advice?+

    No. RingOwl is explicit that it's a scheduling assistant, not a clinician. For clinical urgency it routes to your on-call provider or instructs the caller to call 911.

  • Can I define what counts as urgent?+

    Yes. You set the trigger phrases per practice — chest pain, fever above X for a child under Y, severe pain, suspected stroke, etc. RingOwl routes urgent calls to your on-call line immediately.

  • Does it handle pharmacy callbacks for refills?+

    It captures the refill request (medication, dosage, pharmacy) and queues it for your MA in the morning. Direct pharmacy callback is on the roadmap.
