Medical answering service

A medical answering service answers patient calls when your front desk can't — daytime overflow, after-hours, weekends, holidays. Without one, urgent calls go to voicemail and refill requests pile up. RingOwl handles both: clinical urgency routes immediately to your on-call provider; routine calls (refills, scheduling, general questions) are captured as structured notes and texted to your MA for the morning.

• What's RingOwl's stance on HIPAA?+

  RingOwl is HIPAA-aware, not HIPAA-certified. We don't log or expose PHI by default and call data lives in your account only. We don't currently sign BAAs. Review against your own compliance requirements before relying on it.

• Will it give medical advice?+

  No. RingOwl is explicit that it's a scheduling assistant, not a clinician. For clinical questions it routes to your on-call provider or instructs the caller to call 911 if life-threatening.

• Can it triage by urgency?+

  Yes — you define trigger phrases per practice. Chest pain or severe bleeding routes urgently; a refill request gets queued. The thresholds are yours to set.

• Does it work for multi-provider practices?+

  Yes. You define routing rules per provider or practice group. RingOwl identifies who the patient is trying to reach, captures the reason for the call, and routes the urgent ones immediately.
