Add a floating callback or click-to-call button to any site. Choose the text, color and corner, copy one line of code, paste it before </body>. No signup for the tap-to-dial version.

Opens a short form (name + phone). With a RingOwl account, the AI calls the visitor back within 60 seconds.

Don't have one? Start a 7-day RingOwl trial (no card), open Forms, and copy the token from the form's link (app.ringowl.ai/f/<token>).

See it work: click, form, phone rings

A visitor asks for a call, RingOwl's AI rings them back within a minute, and then the one-minute setup in this generator.

Why a callback button beats “call us” in the header

Most visitors who want to talk to you won't call. They're on a desktop at work, they're browsing at 10pm, or they don't want to be put on hold. A phone number in the header asks them to do the work. A callback button flips it: they leave a number, you call them. Businesses that add one typically see more phone leads from the same traffic, because it catches the people who were never going to dial.

The catch is what happens next. A callback request that sits in an inbox for three hours is worth very little — speed to lead research consistently shows the first business to respond wins, and the odds drop sharply after the first few minutes. That's why this button is built to plug into RingOwl: with an account and your own number, the AI receptionist dials the visitor back within 60 seconds, qualifies them with your questions, and books the appointment. The visitor experiences “I clicked, and my phone rang.”

If you just want a tap-to-dial button, use the “Call now” mode. It's a plain link with no script, no account, nothing to maintain. See how the hosted intake forms with a 60-second callback work when you want the full version.

Callback button FAQ

  • What is a request-a-callback button?+

A small floating button on your website that opens a short form — usually just a name and phone number — so a visitor can ask you to call them instead of calling you. It converts people who are browsing on a lunch break, on a noisy job site, or after hours and don't want to sit in a phone queue. The visitor keeps browsing; you get a lead with a phone number.

  • How is this different from a click-to-call button?+

A click-to-call (tap-to-dial) button uses a tel: link, so on a phone it opens the dialer with your number pre-filled. It's instant but only works if someone is ready to call right now. A callback button captures the number and lets you (or your AI receptionist) ring them. This generator builds either: pick “Call now” for a plain tel: link with no script, or “Request a callback” for the form.

  • Does the callback button need a RingOwl account?+

The “Call now” button needs nothing — it's a styled link you paste anywhere. The “Request a callback” button opens a RingOwl hosted form, so it needs a RingOwl account (the 7-day trial works, no card) and a form token from Dashboard → Forms. On the trial, every submission lands in your dashboard with the visitor's name and number. On a paid plan with your own number, the AI receptionist calls the visitor back within 60 seconds.

  • Where do I paste the code?+

Right before the closing </body> tag, or in your site builder's “custom code / footer scripts” box. WordPress: use a header-and-footer plugin or your theme's footer.php. Squarespace: Settings → Advanced → Code Injection → Footer. Wix: Settings → Custom Code → Body end. Webflow: Project settings → Custom code → Footer. Shopify: theme.liquid, just above </body>.

  • Is the callback form TCPA-compliant?+

The hosted form includes an unticked consent checkbox with plain wording about receiving a call, and RingOwl stores the wording, time and IP with every submission. Calls only go out inside 8am–9pm in your local time zone, and a visitor can ask not to be called again. That covers the common requirements for a consumer who requested the call; check your state rules if you operate somewhere stricter.

  • Does the widget slow my site down or track visitors?+

The script is about 6 KB with no dependencies, and it only loads the form when someone clicks the button. It sets no cookies, and no visitor details are sent until they submit the form.
